You can test rules before actually running them by using the Test Rule feature. In the Rule Manager window, click on the rule you wish to preview and click the  Test Rule ribbon button. That single rule will be executed in test mode, and a list of the messages that would have been acted upon will be listed. An example is shown in the image below.

Tips:
 Previewing a rule does not actually move any messages.
You can open the actual message by double-clicking on any of the rows.
